If some guy on the Internet tried to tell me how to dress for a date I’d tell him to go to hell. And rightfully so. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been in a situation where I’m going out with a girl I met the week before and wondered, “what the fuck am I going to wear?” So with that sentiment in mind, here are seven outfits to give you some ideas. And if you don’t have a date, feeling and looking good just might help you pick up a free-agent.

There’s nothing simpler than jeans and a t-shirt so when it’s appropriate take advantage. A day date in the park, a festival of any kind, or breakfast at a nearby cafe. Here’s a pair of kicks that are classic and a t-shirt with a motorcycle on it. What more is there to say. Oh, make sure they’re clean.

Wearing shorts can be awkward for some guys. If many of us had the choice we would avoid leg exposure outside of the beach or pool. But sometimes the heat makes the decision easy for us. A faded short gives a beach vibe and throwing it on with a crisp white oxford adds a little sophistication. the dessert boots give you a little more substance than a boat shoe or sandal. Throw on some shades and you’re done.

Ladies love jean jackets. Why? Nobody knows. I guess it’s just one of those mysteries that will continue to puzzle scientists. It might be all of the iconic figures from the 60′s and 70′s who made them famous (Brando, Martin Sheen, The Boss). So go ahead and get a piece of their mojo, just don’t wear the same color denim jeans with it. If you do you’re just wearing a Canadien tuxedo.

The combination of Khaki, navy, and white or light blue is a staple for the europeans. French guys lean on this look a lot and there is something to be said for it. It’s country elegance, what they would call provincial and it’s not at all related to what southern hill-billys call country. Take a page out of the euro playbook and you’ll look like a playwright, or at least someone who’s been to a museum, once.

If there’s something a bit classier on the docket you can’t go wrong with the blazer and jean combo. It’s training wheels for a suit and it strikes a balance between being dressed up and a “I still don’t give a fuck” casualness. If you wear this out to a more formal establishment you’ll be considered “dress appropriate” and look cooler than the banker d-bags wearing suits and ties(apologies to any bankers).

The grey pullover sweatshirt is just a classic. It looks good and nothing feels better. You can have the same one for years (granted you don’t get too many stains) and it will only get better with age. Perfect for a movie, she can nuzzle into it and you’ll stay warm in the freeze locker they call a theater.

In the movie Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey Jr. famously said that an actor should “never go full retard.” While that might be true for thespians, when a guy puts on a suit he should go “full suit.” Don’t be one of those wanna be suit wearers with the untucked shirt, no tie, and sneakers. Wtf is the point? Save the suit for when it’s appropriate and wear it the way it was meant to be worn. If you take a girl somewhere where she gets to dress up and you look like James Bond, your work is done.
Roger Federer tried to make a strong fashion statement during his opening round match at Wimbledon. Officials were not amused. The 7-time Wimbledon champ came out decked in orange soled shoes, a no-no at the All England Club.
They were banned immediately after his match.

The whole thing appears to be some kind of marketing ploy. Nike said they would “make a bold style statement in London” and now, as of Wednesday afternoon, the shoes are sold out on their website.
So, yea, good job, good effort Nike.

A Chinese woman’s breast implant exploded after she lied on her stomach for four hours playing a game on her iPhone.
Doctors told China’s SZNews that the low quality of the implant combined with the extended period of time pushing on the breast led to the unexpected explosion.
The woman was caught up in a game of “Dragon Summon” (which we’d like to but are unable to find on the App Store).
The status of her breasts and if she got another implant is unknown, according to the Daily Mail.
The biggest surprise here isn’t the quality of Chinese labor but the fact that she wasn’t playing Candy Crush. That game has been singularly responsible for any damage to my body and my ego in the last month-plus.

Instagram has opened up a whole new world for beautiful women to get noticed. Instead of having to hire a PR firm, they now can just post their pictures on the Internet and people will follow them.
Today we take a look at one such woman in Dovile Sokaite.

She has less than 500 followers on Instagram, which as you will see from this small sampling of her photos is a travesty.
Dovile Sokaite first came to our attention in a video we called “the sexiest pizza you’ll ever watch being made” so we wanted to learn more about her. According to her Instagram account she is Lithuanian, lives in Paris, but for the moment is residing in Las Vegas. We also learned that she is on Facebook and has done more than her fair share of modeling – including the lingerie kind (AKA the best kind). Now you understand why I say her having less than 500 followers on Instagram is a travesty.

WFTV in Florida went to interview a supermarket manager about shoplifting in his store. He then leapt into action when he saw a man who’d shoplifted from the shop just days prior…while being filmed by the camera crew.
The manager, Lenin Ubiera-Cruz, previously saw the man stuffing eggs and meat down his pants in order to get it out of the store.
The man was arrested, jailed for five days, and fined $273 for the shoplifting crimes.
You have to love the calm way Ubiera-Cruz dealt with the situation. Based off his disposition, he could have either been putting a guy in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu choke hold or putting a baby to sleep. “Shh shh, I got you.” The guy might not have been excited to get arrested but I bet the reassurance felt nice for a moment or two.

Aaron Hernandez was arraigned this afternoon in Attleboro District Court on the charge of murdering Odin Lloyd. Hernandez was also hit with a multitude of firearms felonies. Here’s video of Hernandez entering the court and charges being read. He shows little to no emotion.
According to prosecutors, Lloyd was discovered in a ditch by a jogger with multiple gun shot wounds. Hernandez is being held without bail.
Falling off your skateboard sucks. A lot of us have been there. But, man, this kid could not acquit himself any worse after he fell off his skateboard in this video.

The lawn of the All-England Club was red today drenched in the blood of former champions. Tennis analyst Pam Shriver summed it up best: “It was literally the most stunning day of tennis I have ever seen.”
In all, seven players who had been ranked #1 at some point in their career took the court Wednesday. They all lost. Seven players withdrew or retired from their match because of injury. Among them, John Isner, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Victoria Azarenka. Former world #1 Caroline Wozniacki lost. Former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic lost. Former Wimbledon champ LLeyton Hewitt also lost.
And that’s not even the worst of it.
Seven-time Wimbledon champ Roger Federer fell to 116th ranked Sergiy Stakhovsky. The loss snapped Federer’s streak of 36 straight Grand Slam quarterfinal appearances. It was his first loss to a player outside the top 100 since 2005. For Stakhovsky, it was his first win against a top-10 opponent.
The loss was so stunning that Patrick McEnroe completely lost his mind on Twitter.

But that’s not all. Third seeded Maria Sharapova lost to Michelle Larcher de Brito, a woman who hadn’t won a WTA match in over a year.

Miss Utah isn’t the first beauty pageant contestant to do something stupid, she’s just the latest.
If you don’t know who Bonnie McKee is get ready to, because she’s about to become this summer’s Carly Rae Jepsen with her song “American Girl.” The song itself is okay, but the star power she has working to get her song out there is second to none. In this music video for the song “American Girl” she has celebrity cameos by Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Nicole Scherzinger, Macklemore, Adam Lambert, Jewel, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jenny McCarthy, Tommy Lee, Taio Cruz, LL Cool J, Jane Lynch, George Takei, Jason Derulo, Joan Rivers, Kathy Griffin, the Fashion Police, and KISS in full makeup. So how did this unknown singer pull all of this off? She’s been a songwriter for people like Katy Perry, Ke$sha, and Britney Spears, among others for years.
Since last week on Throwback Thursday we featured one of the Three Kellys in Jennie Garth I figured this week we’d take a look at another one in Christina Applegate, AKA Kelly Bundy. One could argue (and many have) that Kelly Bundy was the hottest of the Three Kellys. She certainly was the one to flaunt it the best, which gave her a major advantage over the other two. For 10 years, Christina Applegate made Married… with Children must-see TV for boys and men everywhere.
But Christina Applegate didn’t stop once Married… ended. She has moved on and had a rather successful post-Bundy life with her own shows Jesse, Samantha Who?, and Up All Night. None matched the success of Married… but how could they? (Though she did get an Emmy nomination for Jesse.) Her most famous role since Kelly Bundy though has to be as Veronica Corningstone in Anchorman, a role she will be reprising this year in Anchorman: The Legend Continues. We can hardly wait.

Things got pretty crazy during the Blackhawks celebration the other night. Parts of Wrigleyville looked more like the south side of Chicago with fans running afoul of the law. Which brings us to this fine gentlemen who informs everyone within earshot that he’s going to jail tonight. He’s the best because he’s truthful.
The combination of this depressingly mushy voicemail and the pictures of a whale every time the girl makes a whale-sounding cry made me laugh way harder than it should. You will probably feel the same way.
People with bad laughs get a lot of flak but I feel like people with awful cries should, too. Just because you’re sad is no excuse to sound ridiculous. Stop blubbering (literally, in this girl’s case).
There are plenty of movies where you expect mostly video effects, but The Great Gatsby wasn’t one of them. That’s what makes this seemless before and after Gatsby VFX reel even more impressive.
Maybe I’m a sucker, or naive at a mionimum, but I assumed most of that was real. You’re telling me they couldn’t find a huge mansion at which to shoot the movie? They should have used Leonardo DiCaprio’s house. That place is probably better than the grounds they digitally created!
