Goose Island isn’t the only brewery that can sellout a new release in a hurry. Victory accomplished that feat with Red Thunder in a mere seven seconds…kind of.
Obviously the video is a time lapse, but it’s still an impressive pace at which to sell a beer. I’ve never tried Red Thunder, a red wine barrel-aged Baltic porter, but there are plenty of Victory beers that I love. Prima Pils and Storm King Stout are not to be missed. Since obviously I wasn’t there for the release event, I’ll let Victory sum up Red Wednesday for you themselves, with this lovely little poem.
Twas the morn’ before Thanksgiving and all through the lot
many drinkers were stirring, as early as 6 o’clock!
The cases were stacked in retail with care.
Quantity was limited; the brew was quite rare.Customers were lined up all ready to buy.
Doors opened at eight, beer began to fly.
Bartenders were ready; the kegs had been tapped.
Upon the first sip of Red Thunder, guests squealed and they clapped. When out in the parking lot there arose such a clatter.
The first purchase of Red Thunder stirred up some chatter.
Into the brewpub, they flew with a flash
to buy up the beer to add to their stash.
