If getting up at three in the morning, to stand in line in the frigid cold, on Black Friday, to potentially get into a fist fight over a copy of Assassin’s Creed 3, all just to save $20, sounds like hell, it’s okay. You’re not alone. You’re actually quite normal.
Those of you have seen my rundowns all the Black Friday deals that Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, and Toys R Us will have to offer have either formulated a plan of attack or simply could give a rat’s ass.
And if you’re in the latter camp, that’s totally cool. In fact, I’m there with you. Which means you probably have your sights set on what Amazon has in store. But there are other deals to found online as well, and right this moment.
First, Microsoft is offering a ton of stuff for sale via Xbox Live. The entire list can be seen here. Admittedly, it’s mosty DLC for various games you may not even own, but the few stand alone titles available are definite standouts. Specifically, Dayonta USA, Rock Band Blitz, and Spelunky. The first two are 600 MS points, and the last one is 800. Or $7.50 and $10.00 in Earth money.
Meanwhile, for you PS3 owners out there, Sony is offering Ultimate Editions of various titles (these are full retail games with all the DLC pre-loaded) on the cheap as well. There are nine in total, and you can read all about them here. I’d recommend Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and if you happen to have a PlayStation Plus membership, you can get it as low as $27.99.
Also, purchases on PSN that collectively exceeds $60 will net a $10 voucher come December. Not a bad incentive to spend more than you were probably planning on.
And finally, Blizzard has a few deals of their own for you PC only types. Both Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty are $20 off, while the vanilla plain version of StarCraft 2 by itself is just $20 from the publisher directly.
