As the iPhone 5S announcement crushes it on the Internet today, is it wrong to expect a little more? A new “social movement” called Phonebloks is trying to reinvent the way your smart phone works.
Small problem…this totally ignores the way phones work. Any person with one electrical engineering class in their tool belt can tell you that the way that wires and connectors work would prohibit this from working. And, even if someone spent the thankless effort for figuring out some way to connect things not designed to connect as simply as outlined here, there would be immediate incompatibility issues when you try to upgrade to newer hardware without upgrading other pieces.
Beautiful idea. Tech slacktivism ahoy.
