If there’s one way to piss off parents across the US, it’s leaving a charge on a sports bar’s receipt that says “f-cking needy kids.”
Joseph Gibson went to his local St. Louis Friendly’s Sports Bar and Grill (not to be confused with ice cream/fatty food purveyor Friendly’s) with his children. On his way out, he received the following receipt:
Gibson posted the image to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Facebook page. When they saw the note, they reached out to the bar for an explanation.
“Normally, we don’t let anyone in who’s under 21,” the bar’s general manager, Denny Domachowski, told the paper. “But the guy said he was with his kid for Father’s Day and they were just leaving the (Missouri) Botanical Garden, so I said ‘Sure.’”
The bill was made as a joke for the waitstaff, Domachowski said, and was left on by accident since the waitress was in a hurry.
Naturally, that explanation isn’t enough for the hoards of Facebook commenters saying things like “When you deal with the public it includes children” and “Regardless if the kid is “needy” or not. I hope one day she has a child and experiences something similar!”
At least they didn’t charge for the kid’s beer, I hope.
