Mother’s Day is just around the corner. If you’re like every other guy on Earth, you have nothing planned. Why not take her on a romantic Date Knight to Chick-fil-A. This is the most ridiculous idea I’ve ever seen.
“During this special medieval-themed evening, moms and their sons are encouraged to spend some time together while they enjoy dinner, great conversation and several special activities.”
There are a few things to note here. One, why is Chick-fil-A doing a medieval themed dinner? The events are happening in their restaurants, which I’m quite confident don’t have room for jousting or knight battles. Two, are they changing their menu? Chicken sandwiches, fries, and shakes don’t constitute date food for anyone over 14. Three, the conversation is going to suck. My mom is going to ask me why I’m not married, when is she going to have grandchildren, and why can’t I be more like my brother. Then she’ll try to tell me I drink too much. Yeah, right.
I appreciate Chick-fil-A trying to enhance the family unit, specifically two parent heterosexual households, but making it a theme night seems to trivialize the effort. Plus, they’re Chick-fil-A. Shut up and make me an f’ing sandwich.
