Jamie Hena was just trying to make it clap at a middle school dance. And then her mom decided that she needed to publicly embarrass her because parenting.
Mom Frances Hena made her daughter stand on a Bakersfield, Calif. corner holding a sign saying “I was disrespecting my parents by twerking at a school dance.”
Hena told ABC News about her daughter, “I want her to realize that she is just a child and that she can’t do that.”
The mother found out about her 11-year-old daughter’s indiscretion after witnessing it first-person while chaperoning the girl’s dance.
Jamie was forced to hold the sign for two hours by her mother, who was disappointed the school didn’t take the girl’s punishment under their own umbrella.
The full ABC News segment, via the NY Daily News, is below. If there’s one thing I know, though, it’s that this girl will definitely completely learn her lesson from this public embarrassment and certainly not do more awful, infinitely more whorish things to get back at her mother. Oh and she’ll definitely respect and appreciate how her mom made this a national news story. Yup. High functioning teenage girl forthcoming, for sure.
