Tallgrass Brewing has been busy concocting the official beer of the zombie apocalypse, and a new teaser featuring the Walking Dead theme and a panda is building the hype for Zombie Monkey porter.
I’m not sure what the panda has to do with the apocalypse or beer, but that’s part of the reason I love Tallgrass Brewing. It’s like their marketing department is tapped into my effed up head. It’s also refreshing to see a fall seasonal that has nothing to do with a Märzen or pumpkin.
A robust porter inspired by approximately true events…
Zombie Monkie is a dark, rich porter, carefully brewed for the post-apocalyptic world to come. Crafted with lots of roasted dark chocolate and specialty malts, then inoculated with enough hops to add a floral/citrus character in the finish. It’s hardy, complex, and interesting, because you might be drinking it for a long time.
If you happen to live in the tall grass fields of Kansas, Tallgrass is hosting a beer release party complete with a costume contest. It could be the perfect test run for this year’s Halloween costume.
