The Fifty United Plates seems like a brilliant idea. Most of us have love for our home state, especially if we’re no longer living there. You better believe I immediately backed the project to get a Michigan plate so that I can dominate the Michigan football tailgate parties. Plus I get two plates for the price of one, so it was a no-brainer. Thanks U.P., you’re finally good for something!
The initial inspiration behind the project was to create a full USA map with interlocking states. Each of them is sized to scale, which is why individual plates that are a standard 12″-14″ are being sold. You wouldn’t be able to do much with a 1.5″ x 1.5″ Rhose Island. The standard state sizes are currently available for $75, but if you really love America, you can get the full interlocking set for the low, low price of $5,000.
Kickstarter is a sketchy place these days with failed projects being recycled and others turning out to be scams. If you can’t trust a guy who looks like Perez Hilton though, who can you trust?
