In 1930, Chicago Cubs centerfielder Hack Wilson finished the season with a record 191 RBI. It was a record many thought was untouchable—the RBI version of Joe Dimaggio’s hit streak. But Miguel Cabrera’s making a serious run at it this year.
Hack actually did his damage in 155 games so Cabrera’s slightly behind his pace. That being said, he has a legit shot, provided of course the Tigers consistently get on base. With power to all fields and a .446 average with RISP, it’s the best chance anyone’s had since Manny Ramirez in ’99.
