‘The World’s End’ featurette explains Cornetto trilogy

What started as two films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, with tenuous ties develops into a full blow trilogy with At World’s End. This five minute featurette explains how it all began as a joke.

If you’re fans of the first two movies, the connection is clear. The films are comedic takes on major genres with buddy comedy, fence jumping, and Cornetto ice cream providing the link between the seemingly very different stories. If you’re new to the trilogy though, this featurette does well to cover the basics of the previous films. I especially liked when Simon Pegg explains that they weren’t meant to be parodies, which is what many people initially thought.

If I didn’t love summer so much I’d be counting down the days until the August 23 release date for The World’s End.
