Jim Beam launched a “Mix for Kid Rock” contest to find one lucky person to sling drinks for Kid Rock during part of his summer tour. You don’t even need to know how to make a single cocktail yet. Oh, and you get $10k, if you’re into that sort of thing.
I’m in a moral quandary here. Kid Rock was my first concert sans parents back in ’99, and I’ve been a fan ever since. I certainly enjoy Jim Beam bourbon and could also really use a crash course in how to make proper cocktails. So what’s the problem? I have a wedding to attend the same weekend as each of the three tour dates (Irvine, CA – July 26; Detroit, MI – August 10; Chicago, IL – August 30) for which the winner gets to be the backstage bartender. Two of the weddings are very good friends while the third is family. I haven’t made my decision yet, but I’m very tempted to say tough luck to my friends and family and enter the contest.
If you have no such familial obligations, you should definitely go enter. All it takes is 250 words and the job could be yours.
