Too often we focus on the crappy things athletes do—the arrests, the contract disputes, the illegitimate children, etc…So it’s nice to see this video of Matt Kemp literally giving a fan the jersey off his back.
It’s impossible not to notice the fan’s disability here which makes the gesture even more touching. Perhaps if every player spent time with fans, we wouldn’t be left with half-empty stadiums in the dog days of summer—regardless of the team’s record.
