I don’t know exactly when high school and college kids became obsessed with the kids’ show SpongeBob, but the internet loves him. Nick Bertke, AKA Pogo, is helping feed that addiction with his SpongeBob remix, titled SquareBob SpongeMix. I don’t think I’ve seen more than one episode of the show, but I could watch this all day. I’m constantly amazed by Bertke’s ability to turn just about any show into his signature style of music.
There are three clear signs that a show has hit the teen/20s demographic. Remixes, memes, and a porn parody. SpongeBob has all three, and is there any meme more popular than Surprised Patrick? I doubt it.
