Zooey Deschanel was shocked during the hunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to find out that a closed-captioning service had named her Boston bombing suspect #2. The company that does the captioning has now apologized for the error.
Lawrence, Kan.-based Caption Solutions says it and its captioner “deeply regret” the mistake. Company president Kala J. Patterson says in a statement issued Tuesday they “sincerely apologize for this error.”
When Deschanel caught wind of the error, she tweeted, “Whoa! Epic closed captioning FAIL!” Fail indeed.
Now while it turned out that Zooey Deschanel was not actually the suspect in question, I think we all owe it to ourselves and our country to keep a sharp eye on her. Beginning… now.
