Goodnight Moon, the most popular story since the dawn of bedtime, has gotten the movie treatment. It’s not nearly as full of whimsy as I recall. In fact, it’s downright creepy. The apparent nightmare induced by the reading of the book is far worse than not being able to fall asleep in the first place. Maybe they should have read Go the F-ck to Sleep instead.
Gritty Reboots was also responsible for the Calvin and Hobbes trailer, which was another grownup spin on a childhood classic. They’ve got some twisted minds over there, and I like it.
