Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. For the second game in a row, Tom Crean’s Indiana Hoosiers resorted to cheap tactics in an effort to fool officials.
With 27.3 seconds remaining in last night’s game against Minnesota, Will Sheehey went down with what appeared to be an elbow to the face. The replay showed otherwise.
Sheehey’s flop was quite miserable as it occurred well after contact. It’s as if somebody told him to go down. Wait, what?
Now, obviously, we don’t know what was said in the huddle but it certainly looks like Crean’s instructing players to go down. A no-no both on the sportsmanship level and on the “cheap ass motherf-cker” level. Thankfully, the tactic was transparent enough for officials to see right through it.
As Mike Tirico and Dan Dakich noted during the broadcast, this is the second time in less than a week where a Hoosier’s gone down like this. If you recall, Cody Zeller appeared to hit himself in the junk with the aid of Derrick Nix’s hand.
Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press had this to say on the incident.
And beyond what Dakich said, it is truly remarkable when you watch the film, how Crean seemed to point to Nix-Zeller before it happened.

And that’s coming from a guy who covered him for years while he was an assistant at MSU. The evidence is mounting against Crean, does anybody dare step up and question him publicly? Only a matter of time if this BS continues.
