Gore! Gore! Gore! While I’m typically pretty suspicious of horror movie remakes, the minds behind the new Evil Dead seem to know what they’re doing. The original is a masterpiece of low-budget invention, as Sam Raimi and crew let their imagination flower in a series of increasingly bizarre scenes. Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez is making his English-language debut with the remake, and this new red band trailer shows exactly how far they’re going to go with it. Spoiler: way over the top. Lesson learned: don’t read any weird-looking books. Or any books, actually. Evil Dead stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas and Lou Taylor Pucci and opens on April 12th.
